Warranty
Being EXTREMA RATIO positive about the high quality of its products, guarantees a quick replacement of products (upon stock availability) in case of:

- production fault preventing item from functionality
- break caused by production fault or inner fault in materials used

This warranty covers our knives for unlimited time.Scabbards have a 6 years warranty, from purchase by first customer. This warranty does not cover damages due to wearing and oxidation, which can be avoided thanks to careful lubrication and polishing, even on the best stainless steels. In order to profit from this warranty, please send faulty items back along with original copy of the purchase receipt. Should EXTREMA RATIO certify the fault, the faulty parts will be replaced for free, including expenses due for shipping items back.

Maintenance
Should a repair be necessary, EXTREMA RATIO offers a customer service repairing and replacing damaged parts assistance. The costs for repairs will be communicated upon receiving of the product. For our customers sharping service is free. Customers will have to pay only for shipping fees.

All Extrema Ratio knives is produced with N690 steel , a stainless steel with excellent cutting and mechanical quality and excellentlevel of resistance to oxidation. Notwithstanding this, the resistance to oxydation of martensitic steels (made to be hardened ) doesn't have an absolute value , but it highly depends on different elements like chrome concentration , superficial roughness, hardening process ,reagents with whom they come into contact. For this reason we suggest a few maintenance rules which will allow your knife to serve you at best for a very long operative life.

Fix Blades
All the plastic parts of the knife: handle, hardsheath and belts are produced in polymers with high mechanical and chemical resistance. The metallic accessory components like screws and rivets are produced in metals virtually immune from oxidation. The blade is the partyou mostlyhave to takecare of. These rules must be observed also for the models with the blade protected by superficial coatings , these treatments , in fact, although resistant, tend to wear out during the use,leaving the blade surface bare. The handle, easy to be disassembled , will make these operations easier.

Folders

These rules must be observed also for the models with the blade protected by superficial coatings , these treatments , in fact, although resistant, tend to wear out during the use,leaving the blade surface bare. We recommend to effect cleaning and lubricationby using wads and brushes without disassembling the knife. Too frequent disassemblies and reassemblies could endanger the quality of assemblies and components.

Basic tips
The knife has to be maintained dry and lubricated (specific synthetic lubricants or lubricants for weapons).
In case the knife gets wet in salty water it is necessary to wash it with fresh-water, wipe it off and lubricate it.
Salty water is the common worst enemy of hardened stainless steel.
In case the knife is stocked for a long time, in case the knife is getting wet in fresh-water, in case the knife is getting dirty by hydro soluble materials like mud: it is enough to wash it with fresh-water , wipe it off and lubricate it.
In case the knife is getting dirtyby fatty materials, it is necessary to clean it with common domestic detersives, wipe it off and lubricate it. Make sure that the interior of the sheath is always clean, dirt often contains some abrasive substance which could scratch the knife's surface while drawing and drawing back.

Extraordinary maintenance
In case of wear or break of a part of the knife, it is possible to replace the mentioned part without having to replace the whole knife. The heavily worn out sharpening can be restored by the manufacturer or by a qualified professional knife-sharpener. Parts which are particularly subject towear, can be disassembled and replaced (belts). The replacement of the damaged part can be effected by any gunsmith with standard tools.

Sharpening
The camp sharpening can be effected with smooth stones and diamond plaques, but we recommend to use quality tools and to conform to the following sharpening tips : Choose the right grain for the kind of sharpening you wish to obtain: a thick grain to remove scratches and damages on the edge, a thin grain to restore the cutting capacity. The essential rule is to let the blade slide on the sharpener obliquelytouching the flat of the edgeand not the flat of the blade.
